Njikho Impressed with Mzuzu North League Administration

Mzuzu City North aspirant Leonard Njikho has commended the Mzuzu District Football Association for its effective management of the K3.5 million Uncle Jose League.
Njikho, popularly known by his trade name Uncle Jose, expressed his satisfaction after attending the league final between Zolozolo United and Lupaso Platinum at Area 1B Primary School ground on Sunday.
“The committee has done a commendable job in administering the league, and this gives me confidence to consider sponsoring another one soon,” Njikho said.
He added that the competition had successfully met its objectives of unearthing talent and entertaining the constituents. He further promised to launch another league after a short break.
Northern Region Football Association General Secretary Masiya Nyasulu also applauded Njikho for timely disbursing the prize money, emphasizing its role in football development.
“We have witnessed a great game, and we are grateful to the sponsor for honoring the prizes on time. The league has showcased remarkable talent,” said Nyasulu.
In the final, Zolozolo United came from behind twice to level the scores before clinching victory in a 6-5 penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw in regulation time. Meanwhile, Clinic FC edged out Apocalyptal to finish third.
As champions, Zolozolo United received K1 million, while runners-up Lupaso Platinum took home K500,000. Clinic FC and Apocalyptal received K300,000 and K200,000, respectively.
