Thrilling Year Ahead for African Football: Walter Nyamilandu Reflects on CAF Meeting in Rabat

CAF Council Member and former Malawi Football Association President, Walter Nyamilandu Manda, has hailed the recent CAF Executive Committee meeting in Rabat, Morocco, as a significant step forward for African football.

“We just concluded a highly successful CAF Executive Committee meeting in Rabat, Morocco, as part of our preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 draw,” Manda shared.

According to Manda, this year promises to be thrilling and action-packed, with two of Africa’s most prestigious football tournaments taking center stage.

“The Champions of African Nations (CHAN), which showcases the best homegrown talent, is set to kick off in August, followed by the much-anticipated Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in December,” he said.

Manda emphasized that these tournaments go beyond competition, serving as a celebration of the skill and passion of African football while uniting nations through the beautiful game.

“We look forward to witnessing incredible performances and unforgettable moments as the continent’s top teams battle it out for glory. Let’s keep the spirit of African football alive,” he concluded.
