My FIFA Mission to Zimbabwe: A Journey of Transformation” – Nyamilanda Manda

Former Football Association of Malawi President who is now the Fifa council member Walter Nyamilandu Manda is back from Zimbabwe where he went to witness the elections of Zimbabwe Football Association ZIFA.
Writing in his Facebook page M.anda said he is delighted that the mission accomplished in Zimbabwe.
“I am delighted to announce that my FIFA mission to Zimbabwe has been successfully accomplished,” marking a significant milestone in the nation’s football history.
This mission has culminated in the smooth and peaceful transition of power from the Normalisation Committee to a newly elected ZIFA Board, now under the visionary leadership of President Nqobile Magwizi.
“Being part of this transformational journey has been both a privilege and an honor.” Over the past months, we have worked diligently to rebuild structures, strengthen governance, and restore integrity within the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA). Today, I am proud to say that ZIFA is now fit for purpose and prepared to chart a new course for the future of Zimbabwean football,”
“This journey was not without its challenges, but it has reaffirmed my belief that with commitment and collaboration, anything is possible.” The resilience and determination of all stakeholders were instrumental in making this dream a reality. Together, we have laid a solid foundation for sustainable football development in Zimbabwe—one that promises to take the sport to greater heights.

In January 2025, a major milestone was achieved. After months of preparation and restructuring, power was officially transitioned from the Normalisation Committee to a newly elected ZIFA Board, led by President Nqobile Magwizi. This peaceful transition signified a fresh start for Zimbabwean football, with hopes of stability, development, and growth taking center stage.
The new board has been entrusted with the responsibility of addressing long-standing issues, improving grassroots football, enhancing league structures, and creating opportunities for Zimbabwe to return to the international football stage.
