Edith Kachale Banda Transforms Lives with Charitable Projects in Zomba Malosa

Aspiring Zomba Malosa Member of Parliament, Edith Kachale Banda, recently handed over newly constructed houses to three beneficiaries in Kundache and Kalembo villages within Senior Chief Malemia’s area.
The gesture, funded by the Joyce Banda Foundation, amounted to K10 million per house and targeted vulnerable individuals, including a 16-year-old Mulunguzi Secondary School student and two women who previously lived in deplorable conditions.
Highlighting the importance of education, Banda also paid the school fees of the 16-year-old boy, ensuring his studies continued uninterrupted despite his family’s financial challenges. She emphasized that proper housing and educational support are essential for securing the future of Malawi’s youth.
In addition to the housing projects, Banda distributed maize to over 300 households affected by drought in the Zomba Malosa area. One of the recipients, Biyasina Mkwanda, expressed gratitude, noting that the assistance came at a critical time when many households are struggling to afford a meal.
Addressing infrastructure challenges, Banda also constructed a K2 million bridge over the Tiwi River, facilitating better mobility for learners from Domasi Demonstration Primary School, Domasi Secondary School, Domasi Teachers College, and surrounding community members.
Group Village Head Mtogolo applauded Banda for her efforts, highlighting the positive impact on education and daily life.
Patuma Rubeni of Kundache Village and other beneficiaries commended Banda for her dedication to uplifting the lives of the vulnerable in the community. The projects, they noted, have brought hope and improved living conditions for many.
Through her diverse initiatives, Edith Kachale Banda has demonstrated her commitment to addressing education, food security, and infrastructure challenges in Zomba Malosa. Her efforts are a testament to the power of targeted interventions in transforming lives and fostering community development.
