William Kaweche Pledges Action-Oriented Leadership for Mzuzu City South East

William Kaweche, an independent candidate vying for the Mzuzu City South East Constituency seat, shared a glimpse of his grassroots development journey during an informal interaction with Malawi Guardian Reporter in Mzuzu.
Kaweche’s conversation revolved around his passion for transformative leadership and his commitment to addressing the constituency’s most pressing challenges.
He outlined his priorities, which include modernizing road infrastructure and ensuring access to clean water for communities long neglected by previous administrations.
Far from being just another candidate, Kaweche presented himself as a man of action, recounting how he had already made tangible contributions to the constituency.
These included rehabilitating the Chiputula Police Unit to improve security, upgrading Kanthenthe Road for better connectivity, and personally settling a K700,000 water bill to restore services for residents.
Though currently running as an independent, Kaweche expressed his openness to joining a political party—provided it aligns with his vision of genuine development and people-centered governance.
His candidacy signals a fresh approach to leadership, one grounded in action rather than rhetoric, as he aims to redefine representation in the September 2025 tripartite elections.
