All Set for Mzuzu DFA FAM Cup Finals This Saturday

The Mzuzu District Football Association (Mzuzu DFA) has announced that all preparations are complete for the much-anticipated FAM Cup finals set for Saturday at Luwinga Technical Centre Ground.
In the finals, Hilltop FC will face Soweto FC, while Chibwaka FC will battle Hippo FC for third place.
Hilltop FC secured their spot in the finals by edging Chibwaka FC 1-0 in the semifinals, while Soweto FC triumphed over Hippo FC 4-3 in post-match penalties after a goalless draw.
Mzuzu DFA General Secretary, Alphack Mkandawire, expressed confidence in the event’s success.
“Yes, everything is set for tomorrow at Luwinga Technical Centre. We anticipate an exciting final and third-place match,” Mkandawire said.
The event will be graced by Football Association of Malawi (FAM) President Fleetwood Haiya and prominent Northern Region Football Association officials.
While presiding over the Dowa District finals, Haiya reiterated FAM’s commitment to transforming football in Malawi.
“Our objective is to elevate the game by introducing structured leagues at the district level, which will serve as vital feeders to the regional Division One,” Haiya said.
FAM has allocated K3 million to each district for the competition. The champions will take home K1 million, while the runners-up will receive K400,000. The third-placed team will pocket K200,000, with K50,000 awarded to the top goal scorer.
