Kaliati Says UTM Manifesto Still Intact, Unused
Former United Transformation Movement (UTM) Secretary General, Dr. Patricia Kaliati, has stated that the 2019-2020 UTM manifesto promising one million jobs, three meals a day, and free connections for electricity and water remains unused because UTM was not in a leadership position during that time.
Dr. Kaliati expressed optimism for 2025, describing it as a year of hope and an opportunity for the manifesto to come to fruition. She urged Malawians to vote for UTM President, Dr. Dalitso Kabambe, in the upcoming presidential elections to realize the vision outlined in the manifesto.
Speaking on Times Exclusion on Saturday evening, Dr. Kaliati acknowledged the disappointment among UTM members regarding unmet promises during the Tonse Alliance government tenure. She explained that UTM was not the main decision-maker in the alliance but emphasized that September 2025 would mark UTM’s turn to lead.
