Police Officer Wins “Wapsa wa ku Victoria Falls” in MP Sacco Promotion
A female police officer stationed at State House, Sergeant Gomezgani Milanzi, has become the first grand prize winner in the Malawi Police Sacco (MPS) promotion, “Wapsa wa ku Victoria Falls.”
To qualify for the promotion, members were required to deposit a minimum of K300,000 in shares during the promotional period.
The grand prize was an all-expenses-paid trip to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, sponsored by MPSacco. The second prize was a Defy cooker, while the third prize was a deep freezer refrigerator.
Speaking after her win, Sergeant Milanzi expressed her excitement. “I cannot believe that I have won the grand prize. I just entered the draw to try my luck, but I didn’t expect this,” she said. “I am happy that it will be my first time boarding an airplane to see Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.”
Third-prize winner Richard Hara, from the Prison Services, also shared his joy, having won a deep freezer refrigerator. “I was just saving for the future, but alas! God has blessed me with this Christmas and New Year gift. I plan to give it to my mother to help her celebrate the New Year in style,” he said.
Hara encouraged fellow workers to develop a saving culture to avoid financial difficulties.
Linda Jelenje, MPSacco’s marketing manager, highlighted the purpose of the promotion. “The aim was to encourage members to cultivate a saving culture through MPSacco. We are impressed with how members have grown their savings during this promotion,” she said.
She urged members to maintain their savings habits for a more secure financial future.
