The transfer season has officially kicked off, with Raiply United’s star attacker James Gwayi making a highly anticipated move to Mzuzu City Hammers. The prolific goal-scorer has signed a 3-year deal with the Hammers, marking a significant coup for the team.

Gwayi’s impressive form in the just-ended Simso Mzuzu 12 Premier League, where he scored 15 goals for Raiply United, made him a hot commodity in the transfer market. His arrival at the Hammers is expected to bolster the team’s attacking options and boost their chances of success in the 2025 season.

In a statement, Gwayi expressed his excitement about joining the Hammers. “I’m delighted to be a part of the Hammers family and I’m eager to get started and make a meaningful contribution to the team’s success in the 2025 season.”

Gwayi’s rise to prominence has been swift and impressive. He was promoted to Raiply United’s main team during the 2021-2022 season, following a string of outstanding performances for the reserve side. Since then, he has established himself as one of the most feared attackers in the Simso Mzuzu 12 Premier League.

Raiply United’s Technical Director, Malachi Chirwa, wished Gwayi well in his new endeavor. “We will miss him, but we are already working on finding his replacement to maintain our record in the Simso 12 Mzuzu league,” Chirwa said.

The Hammers’ faithful are ecstatic about Gwayi’s arrival, and the team is expected to make more signings in the coming weeks as they prepare for the 2025 season.
