Two Suspects Arrested for Housebreaking and Theft in Mzuzu
Police in Mzuzu have arrested two men, Sinda Chirwa (19) and Mphatso Vumu (24), on suspicion of housebreaking and theft within the city.
The arrests were made on the morning of December 30, 2024, during a special intelligence operation conducted in Luwinga and Chibavi Townships.
Recovered stolen items include an AG Neovo monitor, a 42-inch Ecco plasma screen, a 32-inch Hisense plasma screen, a 32-inch Samsung plasma screen, an HP CPU, two Xbox consoles, an HP laptop, a Huawei cellphone, three game control pads, and three remote controllers.
The suspects have been charged with housebreaking and theft and will appear in court after the necessary paperwork is completed.
As the festive season comes to a close, Mzuzu Police urge the public to remain vigilant and take precautions to ensure their safety. The Police remain committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all.
Sinda Chirwa hails from Mlale Village, Traditional Authority Timbiri, in Nkhatabay District, while Mphatso Vumu is from Ekwendeni Village, Traditional Authority Mtwalo, in Mzimba District.
