Neef Fertilizer Loans Target Sustainable Growth for Smallholder Farmers
The National Economic Empowerment Fund (Neef) has unveiled a farm input loan program designed to transform smallholder farmers into self-reliant, food-secure contributors to national development.
During the program’s launch in Dowa District, Information Minister Moses Kunkuyu highlighted its potential to boost food production and increase foreign exchange earnings, positioning agriculture as a driver of economic growth.
Neef Board Chairperson Jephta Mtema outlined the program’s ambitious goals for the 2024/2025 farming season, which include supporting over 400,000 farmers and distributing more than 40,000 bags of fertilizer nationwide.
