Mtendere Elections Network Responds to Michael Usi’s UTM Party Debt Claims

0

The Mtendere Elections Network (MEN), an organization responsible for overseeing elections, has refuted claims made by Michael Usi, the former leader of the UTM party, regarding alleged unpaid debts owed by the party to the network.

Menard Nyirenda, chairman of MEN, clarified that the UTM party had fulfilled all its financial obligations to the network on time. He emphasized that the party had met its commitments as required, dismissing Usi’s assertions as unfounded.

Nyirenda further suggested that there might be a misunderstanding, speculating that Usi could be referring to a specific group of individuals outside the official election management process, which was exclusively handled by MEN.

Reacting to the clarification, Usi expressed his surprise, stating his concern over the party’s alleged failure to provide funds to those involved in managing its elections.

The dispute highlights the need for clearer communication and transparency in financial matters related to electoral processes within political parties.
