Parliament Debates Alleged Manipulation of National IDs by NRB Officials
Leader of Opposition George Chaponda has questioned First Deputy Speaker Madalitso Kazombo on whether it is appropriate for the house to continue discussions amidst allegations of National Registration Bureau (NRB) officials tampering with National IDs at the National Food Reserve Agency (NFRA).
Chaponda claimed his team uncovered evidence of the alleged tampering during an afternoon visit to the NFRA.
Raising a point of order, Leader of the House Richard Chimwendo Banda suggested that parliament address the issue, stating that the government has clear responses to the allegations.
In response, the Second Deputy Speaker urged members to adhere to established parliamentary procedures in handling the matter.
