Zomba Malosa Chiefs Praise Kwelepeta for Historic Parliament Visit
Chiefs from Zomba Malosa Constituency have expressed their gratitude to their Member of Parliament, Grace Kwelepeta, for facilitating their visit to the Parliament building in Lilongwe on Thursday.
Senior Group Village Headman Mtokolo described the visit as a historic moment, noting the significance of witnessing their representative actively participating in parliamentary proceedings.
“It is a very memorable experience to come to Lilongwe and see our Member of Parliament seated in the chamber, representing us,” he remarked during the tour.
In her remarks, Kwelepeta emphasized the importance of involving traditional leaders in parliamentary processes.
“To become a parliamentarian, one’s journey often begins with the endorsement of chiefs. It is crucial for them to understand the workings of Parliament,” she stated.
She further expressed confidence that the visit provided the chiefs with valuable insights into parliamentary functions.
“I believe the chiefs have learned a lot about parliamentary issues during this visit,” Kwelepeta said.
She also underscored the need to elect informed representatives who understand the responsibilities of Parliament.
