Chilumba Barracks stunned the NRFA Simso-Mzuzu 12 Premier League leaders Songwe Border United 2-1 at Majaliro ground on Wednesday to further increase intensity of the league as we head into the final three weeks.

The battle for a spot in the TNM Super League continues this Sunday, with Chintheche United traveling to Chilumba Barracks while Songwe Boarder United travel to face unpredictable Tafika Ekwaiweni Academy, third-placed Raiply FC will host Eagle Strikers, while Lube Masters will take on Jenda United.

Chilumba Barracks stunned NRFA Simso-Mzuzu 12 Premier League leaders Songwe Border United with a 2-1 victory at Majaliro Ground on Wednesday, adding more intensity to the league as it enters the final three weeks.
Benjamin Mapunda scored twice for Chilumba Barracks, while Zebron Mwakaseghe netted the lone goal for the league leaders.
Despite topping the standings, Songwe Border United missed an opportunity to extend their lead to eight points. They remain at the summit with 24 points from 11 games, followed by Chintheche United with 19 points from the same number of matches.
Gift Chilongo, coach of Songwe Border United, attributed the loss to injuries among key players but expressed hope for a strong finish to the season.
“We failed to play our game since we missed several key players due to injuries, but we still hope to do well and get promoted,” Chilongo said.
