Malawi Watch Executive Director Billy Banda has urged Malawians who are grieving over the current state of their country to seek God’s intervention in the ongoing struggle to free Malawi from what he describes as the shackles of dictatorship.

Banda emphasized that many citizens are frustrated and in pain, struggling with the country’s difficulties. He called on everyone to turn to God for strength during this challenging time.

“God is the only powerful Father who can bring peace, law, and order to Malawi,” Banda said, adding that every Malawian desires peace. He also urged Malawians to become peacemakers, noting that some may not fully understand the suffering of others.

In an audio message, Banda prayed for divine protection for those planning to participate in the demonstrations scheduled for Wednesday, November 13, 2024, in Lilongwe. These protests aim to rally against oppression and advocate for a better future for Malawi.

Expressing his faith in God’s unwavering support, Banda thanked opposition parties for uniting to stand against what he calls “the devil’s influence.” He prayed for continued strength and encouragement for these groups in their efforts to achieve liberation.

Banda also prayed for notable leaders including Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, Dr. Dalitso Kabambe, Dr. Patricia Kaliati, Felix Njawala, David Mbewe, Enoch Chihana, and Dr. Atupele Muluzi, asking God to guide them in promoting peace and coexistence. He specifically prayed for Madam Mary Chilima, seeking spiritual blessings for her, and praised Bon Kalindo, calling him a trusted pillar in the fight to liberate Malawi.

Additionally, Banda expressed gratitude for Bakili Muluzi TV and Limpopo FM’s “Nkhanga Zaona” program for raising awareness among Malawians about those responsible for harming the country.

“To all Malawian patriots, let us continue to pray and seek God’s intervention to overcome the challenges around us,” Banda urged.
