Malawi Mental Health Advocate Hosts Talk Show to Tackle Suicide

All is set for the Mental Health Talk Show scheduled for today at Golden Peacock in Blantyre, Malawi, where renowned advocate Carlo Marjorie Chidothe will be the main host.

Speaking to Malawi Guardian news, Chidothe said, “I have organized this show to commend the government on its efforts to address the rising suicide cases in Malawi.” The talk show’s theme, “Breaking the Silence,” aims to encourage open discussions.

Panelists include health experts, religious leaders, local authorities, and security officials, covering various aspects of mental health.

Chidothe noted, “Men suffer in silence when it comes to mental health, leading to increased suicide cases.”

She says there is hope that the talk show will raise awareness and encourage men to speak out.
