Karonga United Advances to Last 32 of Castel Challenge Cup
Karonga United comfortably defeated Chipolopolo FC 3-0 on Saturday, October 13, 2024, securing their spot in the last 32 of the Castel Challenge Cup.
Ernest Chisamba opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a cool finish from Blessings Mwalilino’s cross.
Mwalilino doubled the lead in the 41st minute, following a well-executed exchange with Robert Luhanga.
Chisamba sealed the win with his brace in the 51st minute, courtesy of another assist from Mwalilino.
Chipolopolo FC coach Komani Vinkhumbo praised his team’s effort, acknowledging Karonga United’s TNM Super League experience as a decisive factor.
“As you can see, my boys tried their best… Karonga United is a big team, and that’s a plus for them. I’m impressed with my young players.”
Karonga United coach Oscar Kaunda expressed satisfaction with the win, emphasizing the unpredictability of cup games.

Karonga United awaits the winner of the Iponga FC vs. Chitipa White Movers match, scheduled for Tuesday.
