SULOM Cracks Down: MAFCO FC Players Face Disciplinary Action for Unsportsmanlike Conduct
The Super League of Malawi (SULOM) has issued a stern warning to MAFCO FC players involved in unsportsmanlike behavior during Sunday’s match against FC Nyasa Big Bullets at Kamuzu Stadium.
SULOM reviewed video footage and images of the incident, which showed MAFCO FC players Blessings Chandiyang’ana, Duncan Mwale, and Vitumbiko Phiri assaulting Bullets player Wongani Lungu.
“As league administrators, we have taken note and reviewed the video plus images of this unsporting behavior and will take appropriate disciplinary action against the perpetrators,” SULOM stated.
MAFCO FC also condemned the incident, promising to take necessary disciplinary action against the players involved.
“The club does not condone such behavior and will take all necessary measures to ensure our players uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship,” MAFCO FC said in a statement.
The incident has sparked outrage, with many calling for stern action against the players.
SULOM’s decision to take disciplinary action is seen as a step towards promoting fair play and respect in Malawian football.
