Road Accidents Surge 48% in Limbe Amidst Decrease in Crime Rate
Limbe has witnessed a concerning rise in road accidents, with a 48% increase in the last eight months.
According to a report by Limbe police station, 422 accidents occurred between January and August this year, up from 285 in the same period last year.
This surge is largely attributed to motorbike operators’ disregard for road signs and safety protocols.
However, there’s a silver lining – crime rates have decreased by 1% in the area. In January to August 2023, 1,671 criminal cases were recorded, dropping to 1,658 in the same period this year.
