Sixty People Survive Road Accident in Nkhata-Bay
On Sunday afternoon, sixty people from Mzimba district survived a road accident at Lwazi area in Nkhata-Bay. The incident occurred while they were returning from a church service at Chintheche in the district.
The bus they were traveling in overturned, but fortunately, no one was seriously injured.
According to Nkhata-Bay police spokesperson, Sergeant Kondwani James, the sixty passengers were Roman Catholic members from Mzambazi Parish in Euthini, under the Mzuzu Diocese.
They had attended a church service at St. Anthony Outstation at Chintheche in Nkhata-Bay.
Sergeant James explained that the bus failed to ascend Lwazi on the M5 road while heading back to Mzimba from Nkhata-Bay, causing it to overturn.
The casualties were treated as outpatients at Nkhata-Bay district hospital.
