This year’s Blantyre 42.195-kilometer race is poised to be a major event, with over 400 runners expected to participate on Saturday. This represents a significant rise from last year’s 97 participants, highlighting growing interest and enthusiasm for the race.

Limbani Matola, the chairperson of the event, announced that participants will enjoy the benefit of no registration fee this year, aiming to encourage wider participation and inclusivity.

In the previous year, Grevazio Mpani and Nalicy Chirwa emerged victorious in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively. The upcoming race promises to build on this success and attract even more competitive runners.

The race will be broadcast live on MBC TV1 and TV2 On the Go, providing extensive coverage for viewers. With a prize pool of K10 million, the event is set to offer substantial rewards for top performers.
