MFF assures all Malawians to vote in 2025 with or without IDs

A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) aims at making sure that Malawian rights are being respected, Malawi Freedom Fighters (MFF), has assured all Malawians that they should not lose hope, organizations are working tirelessly to make sure that citizens the aged 18 and above come 16th September 2025 go to cast their votes with or without national Identity Cards.

The MFF says it is every citizen’s right to vote as it is written in Section 77 of the Republic Constitution saying it is the most painful for the Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec) to announce that only citizens with national IDs are the ones to cast their votes in the September 2025 elections.

The organization has claimed that the voter registration exercises by the NRB have exposed so many challenges, especially in most parts of Southern, Eastern, and Northern Regions saying this will hinder many citizens their rights to choose their next president, MPs, and councilors.

Writing in a statement dated 2nd September 2024 the MFF has welcomed the idea from the Leader of Opposition in Parliament Dr. George Chaponda to give notice to Parliament through Parliamentary Standing Order 122 of his intention to move the motion so that national ID cards should not only be the sole identification in the 2025 elections.

“MFF is concerned with the way how government through the National Registration Bureau (NRB) has been discharging its duties,” reads the statement in part signed by its Spokesperson Chris Maulidi.

Political activist Bon Kalindo has urged all Malawians regardless of political party affiliations to pray for the 2025 elections so that the devil is defeated in advance in the run-up to the elections claiming that the elections will be of bloody.

Kalindo said it is a disputable fact that the MCP is doing all of what it can to remain in government not by the people’s votes but by vote rigging through terror and intimidations claiming that these have been witnessed in the country since the MCP took over government in June, 2020.

He has asked Malawians to pray for the MCP so that it listens to Malawian prayers to discipline its thugs who are terrorizing innocent people from opposition parties through hacking with panga knives, whipping using big sticks, and beatings.

The activist has claimed that well-known MCP thugs have wounded ANA ACHEPA of the DPP at Chinsapo in Lilongwe expressing hope that if the Malawi Police Service is not MCP Police, they will arrest and prosecute these thugs.

“The only offense committed by ANA ACHEPA is supporting Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika which has earned him to be bruised by MCP thugs,” said Kalindo.

He has finally said that in countries where there is war, the entry point is a political party in government taking itself superior to others by terrorizing, threatening, and issuing terror to members of dissenting views, saying Malawi is following that path.
