Kabambe to Contest at UTM Convention
Former Reserve Bank of Malawi Dr Dalitso Kabambe has come to the open for the very first time that he is going to contest for the presidency of the United Transportation Movement (UTM) in its forthcoming convention scheduled for November 17th this year.
He made the revelations to local media on Sunday at Masintha ground in Lilongwe where UTM had a political rally.
Kabambe who left the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) to join UTM was he is ready to face other presidential aspirants.
“I am going to contest for the position of the president with others too,” he said.
Dr Kabambe said it is the UTM that is going to bail out Malawians from the current situations they are going through.
Meanwhile, others eyeing the UTM presidency include Dr Matthews Mtumbuka and the incumbent UTM’s Secretary General Patricia Kaliati.
However, the current vice president of UTM who is also Malawi’s Vice President Dr Micheal Usi was not in attendance at the Masintha rally.
