Captain Tours Bus Accident, No Injuries
Early on Wednesday morning, a road accident occurred in Mzuzu along M1 Mzuzu Karonga road involving a Captain Tours bus with registration number NN 5315.
The bus, which was traveling from Karonga, was nearing the Mzuzu Central Hospital junction when the driver, Lazarus Mwale, swerved to avoid hitting a pedestrian. This maneuver caused the bus to collide with a satellite pole.
The Mzuzu Police Station public relations officer, Maurice Chapola, confirmed that there were no injuries reported in the incident.
Chapola has issued a warning to drivers, emphasizing the dangers of overspeeding. He noted that most of the road accidents reported in August have been due to reckless driving.
The month of August has been so bad in Malawi as over thirty people have perished due to road accidents in different parts of the country.
