Man arrested for having sexual intercourse with a minor at Jenda

Jenda Police in Mzimba have arrested Emmanuel Khowoya 28, for having sexual intercourse with an 8 year-old girl around Jenda trading centre.

Khowowya was brought in by members of the community after it was learnt that he forced the minor into having sexual intercourse with him on August 20, 2024 in his shop where he charges phones and transfers music files.

It has been established that Khowoya is the customer to the mother of the victim who runs a restaurant next to his shop, on that particular day he took advantage of the minor because the mother went out. The suspect then took the child into his shop and had sexual intercourse with her.

Khowoya was later seen bringing the child back to the restaurant by members of the community, upon seeing them the suspect bolted.

Upon questioning him after his arrest, he has accepted to have done the act and has since been charged with having sexual intercourse with a female child which is against section 138 of the penal.

Khowoya will be taken to court upon completion of paper work to answer his charges.

Khowoya hails from Ekwendeni, Traditional Authority Mtwalo in Mzimba district.
