The Malawi Assemblies of God (MAOG) has today elected Reverend Benito Chisamba as its new president, succeeding Bishop Andrew Dube, who previously held the position. This change in leadership comes as Bishop Dube steps down to focus on other responsibilities, including his role as a significant public figure.
Before he was elected president, Rev. Chisamba served as the deputy president of MAOG, where he gained considerable experience and insight into the church’s operations and vision. His appointment marks a continuation of leadership within the church’s top ranks, ensuring a smooth transition.
The church’s Secretary General, Dr. Maltrida Matabwa, has retained her position, continuing her influential role in the church’s administration. The new leadership team includes:
-Deputy President: Rev. Dr. Jim Botomani Mbewe
-Deputy Secretary General: Rev. Chikumbutso Msendema
-Treasurer General: Rev. George Chiwaya
-Deputy Treasurer General: Rev. Joyce Mwaipape
-Director of Evangelism and Missions: Rev. Francis Chima
The new leadership team is expected to build on the church’s existing programs and drive forward its mission, contributing to both spiritual and community development.
