Kabambe’s vision for Thyolo: A promising future with UTM
Former Central Bank Governor Dr. Dalitso Kabambe recently visited the Masambanjati Constituency in Thyolo District to inaugurate the new UTM office and to rally local support for the party’s future goals. The establishment of this office signifies UTM’s commitment to serving the community and its aspiration to lead the constituency in the upcoming year.
During his visit, Dr. Kabambe addressed the local residents, emphasizing the need for a change in leadership. He pointed out the failures of the current administration, citing issues such as rising commodity prices, shortages of medical supplies, inadequate fertilizer access, and poor road maintenance as evidence of the government’s inability to effectively manage the country. These problems, he argued, highlight a lack of capable leadership and underscore the urgent need for a new direction.
Dr. Kabambe outlined UTM’s vision for Thyolo, pledging to address these challenges head-on. His plan includes revitalizing local agriculture by distributing over 1,000 cassava seedlings to boost crop production, which has suffered due to diseases. UTM also aims to enhance food security and improve the overall economic condition of the area.
A key part of UTM’s strategy involves revitalizing the cultivation of various fruits and maize, supported by the establishment of canning and juice production factories. This initiative is expected to create jobs and provide a stable market for local produce, fostering economic growth and development.
Dr. Kabambe’s visit and the new UTM office in Thyolo represent a significant step towards implementing these goals. His proactive approach reflects a commitment to transforming the region through effective leadership and targeted development programs. As UTM prepares for the upcoming elections, Dr. Kabambe’s plans and promises offer a hopeful vision for a more prosperous and well-managed future for Thyolo.
