Kamphangala advises Chakwera to form an interim government
A Malawi Congress Party (MCP) diehard of Mvera in Dowa district Rodgers Kamphangala, has advised President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to form a Government of National Unity (GNU) to oversee the 2025 elections.
Kamphangala said the writings on the wall speak for themselves that after walking out of the UTM from the Alliance with the MCP, Malawi has no government claiming that people on the 2of 3r2nd ofune 2020 voted for an Alliance into government, not MCP.
He said AFORD, PETRA, UTM, and the Peoples Party (PP) announced to the public that the marriage they had with the MCP ended and that the MCP held its Elective Convention in Lilongwe, this willmeansn that there is no Alliance in government.
The MCP diehard said to his understanding of the Republic Constitution, Malawi was supposed to go to the General Elections on the 21st May 2024 and by today, there could have been a new government with the new President.
He said truth to be said, Malawians were not consulted on the extension of the voting period from 21st May 2024 to 16th September 2025 claiming that Members of Parliament (MPs) did that by themselves out of greed and above all taking the citizens for granted.
The MCP diehard said it is sad that all MPs regardless of which side they belong to in Parliament supported the bill of extending the tenure of office to 6 years instead of 5 years meaning that MPs are above the laws of the country.
Kamphangala said it is a disputable fact that basing on the Republican Constitution that elections be held in every 5 years, Malawi has from the 21st of May, 2024 been run illegally, it has no government or Parliament.
“Constitutionally, Malawians are being governed by an illegal government demanding President Chakwera to form a Government of National Unity or an interim government to take the country to the next elections on 16th September 2025,” he said.
He has noted with grave concern that all the learned judges are quiet, their mouths are closed with cell tapes, and no one wants to speak of the future of the country under the MCP the party Malawians did not vote for it into government but an Alliance.
Kamphangala has warned President Chakwera and the MCP that failure to swallow pride that Malawians did not for the MCP into government, the road to 2025 will be bumpy, there will be insults and castigations from the former Alliance partners joined by Malawians in demanding the truth that led to Dr. Saulosi Chilima and eight others mysterious death on 10th June 2024 in the Chikangawa forest in Mzimba district.
