FAM suspend Kamwendo’s transfer

In a twist of the event, Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has suspended the registration of former Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos forward Promise Kamwendo who has joined Mighty Mukuru Wanderers with immediate effect.
Early on Thursday, August 8, 2024, FAM wrote a letter to Promise Kamwendo manager Hastings Chilunga to explain on the player transfer.
According to a statement released by FAM says it has received a complaint from FCB Nyasa Big Bullets that the team already completed the transfer deal with Kamwendo.
“FAM is in receipt complaint from FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Football Club on the purported transfer of Mr Promise Kamwendo (FIFA ID: 15ZH7J7) from Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos FC to Mighty Mukuru Wanderers FC having already concluded a transfer deal with them.”
FAM has further called upon both parties to remain calm as it is gathering facts on the case of Promise Kamwendo transfer and they will act on the issue urgently.
Both parties have been advised that they should refrain from making unnecessary comments to the press as it can cause commotion in the case.
“All parties are advised to refrain from making unnecessary comments to the press that will jeopardize the direction of the matter at hand.”
Promise Kamwendo signed a three-year contract with Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets says their arch-rivals have done a player tapping as they already concluded the deal with Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos forward.
