Ekwaiweni Tafika Slender Chipolopolo in NRFA Simso Mzuzu 12 Sponsors League

A lone goal from Brian Mbunge at 3 minutes was enough to propel Ekwaiweni Tafika Sports Academy to a slender win over Luzi-based Chipolopolo Boys at Ekwaiweni Primary Ground.
In a sleep-at-the-back game, the home team’s early goal was followed by misspend chances from both teams, despite playing good football on the day Chipolopolo failed to get a result as they struggled towards the end of the game following the injury of their key defender Mwiza as the the they were forced to change their play while the home team came close to extend the lead several times but lacked killer punch.
Omega Mhone head coach for Ekwaiweni Tafika Sports Academy felt relieved with the win while conceding they are in one of the toughest clusters.
“We are delighted with the win and we will have to work on our coordination because we struggled with converting chances but we will qualify for Top 8,” Mhone said in a post-match interview.
Romeo Komani Vinkhumbo conceded the defeat attributing it to complacency during the early minutes while hoping to qualify for the last 8.
“We started sloppy in today’s game hence we conceded early and we failed to equalize but we had a good game we have hope we will progress to the last 8.” a visibly composed Vinkhumbo said.
The win has pushed Ekwaiweni Tafika Sports Academy with three steps to third position with 13 points while Chipolopolo has dropped to sixth position both teams have played 8 games.
The cluster has Lube Masters on the summit with 14 points seconded by Ekwendeni Hard knockers who edged out their neighbors Ekwendeni United in yesterday’s game.
