Former Liverpool midfielder, Thiago Alcantara whose four-year spell ended this summer has announced his retirement from his professional football career.

Alcantara announced this on Monday, July 8,2024 saying that he is willing to give back what he has been given.

“I will always be willing to give back what I have been given and I am grateful for the time I have enjoyed it.”

Thiago continued to say he thanked all football lovers and those who accompanied him to be known by the world.

“Thank you, football. And to all who accompanied me and made me a better player and person along the way. See you soon.”

Thiago Alcantara who joined Liverpool in 2020 from Bayern Munich has managed to clinch Carabao Cup and Emirates FA Cup during Jurgen Klopp’s era.

This has come barely a few months after the expiry of his contract at Anfield, Liverpool on the final day of the 2023-24 English Premier League in May.
