Muvi wa Chilungamo Revolutionary Party (MRP) leader Bantu Saunders Jumah says Malawi has wasted 5 years of hope into the dustbin of darkness observing that the country needs a rescue team to bring back the country from a dustbin of darkness.

Jumah said two days ago, Malawi concluded 21 days of mourning the departed Vice President Dr. Saulosi Chilima, and another dark cloud fell on the country with the death of Music icon and legendary Soldier Lucius Banda.

He said these are the people who have died while wanting to see Malawi moving forward offering his deep condolences to the Banda family and the Music Industry in Malawi for the loss saying this is the time for the country to do self-introspection.

Speaking through his Facebook page, Jumah said the country is mourning Dr. Saulosi Chilima and eight others who died in a plane crash in Mzimba on the 10th of June 2024, and today, the country has buried Lucius Banda.

Jumah said this is the time for the country to start speaking on the death of Dr. Chilima and eight others, saying no one must be followed by police for arrests, let the ground be for a debate and no one must have the power to stop people from speaking about the tragic death of Dr. Chilima and eight others in a plane crash in Mzimba on 10th June 2024.

He said Malawians are mourning these prominent people at the time that the rate of corruption has increased in their country, democratic principles have been eroded, and nepotism and skyrocketing prices of basic needs are beyond the reach of the poor.

The MRP President said these calamities have befallen the country at the time that the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has admitted that corruption is worsening under the MCP-led government saying the MCP will realize this after they are removed from power that they took the country into 5 years of wastage in government.

He has claimed that as of June 2020, the country has gone to the dogs, President Chakwera and his MCP don’t see anything wrong, they are continuing bandaging failures instead of correcting the mess.

Jumah said the MCP and President Chakwera are now focusing on the forthcoming elections to bounce back into government through devising strategies of vote rigging advising Malawians to call off registration for Identity Cards and Mec Chairperson Anabel Mtalimanja not to preside over the elections on the claims that she is a political tool of the MCP.

“Let Malawians go to the polls using traditional methods of voting not IDs which are political tools for MCPs victory,” he said.
