A lone goal from Taniel Mhango at 88 minutes was enough to propel Ekwendeni United to a slender win over Ekwaiweni Tafika Sports Academy at Ekwaiweni Ground.

A game that saw both teams squandering chances from the first half with Ekwendeni United coming in the game later in the second half dominating the play winning a number of corner kicks one of which was taken by Geff Zida Munthali and converted by veteran Taniel Mhango with 2 minutes to play.

Omega Mhone head coach for Ekwaiweni Tafika Sports Academy conceded the defeat indicating their plan did not work for the game.

“Our plan did not work but we should concede that we have struggled in the past three games but with the break we will work on our shortfalls and come back stronger.” Mhone said.

Lukas Kalinga coach for Ekwendeni United praised his players for putting up a spirited performance while promising to work on short falls the next games.

“We are delighted with the win and we will have to work on our coordination because we struggled with that in today’s game but we will qualify for Top 8.” visibly excited Kalinga said in a post match interview.

Lube Masters edged Thaboland 1-2 to finish top with 13 points despite the loss Ekwaiweni Tafika Sports Academy is still second with 10 points with Thaboland on third position with 9 points while the win has propelled Ekwendeni United to 4 with 8 points.
