Karonga Giants gun for success in their debut season

FAM Moto Division One champion Karonga Giants has vowed to do well in the upcoming Simso Innobuild Northern Region League which is starting today.

Karonga Giants a team from Karonga started in 2018 with young players around the district and they have been together since then until now winning numerous trophies and recently winning the FAM Moto Division one which has earned them a place in the Premier Division.

Speaking to the Malawi Guardian Chairperson for the club Innocent Mkweweka has described the journey as successful since they started.

“We started in 2018 as a club and the journey has been wonderful as we have won a couple of trophies and recently the Division One Cup all this is the fruit of believing in young players because these are the future of Malawian football as you know many teams rely on tired legs but we opted to use a different approach in believing in young players,” Said Mkweweka

He continued to say that his team is well prepared for their debut season and they are determined to do well.

“We are very much ready for our debut season in the Premier Division and we are very sure we will do well because we have so much talented youngsters at our disposal so we expect to do well in the upcoming season “.Said Mkweweka

He lastly called on partners to come forward to work with the team so that it can be a success story.

“We call upon potential corporate sponsors, donors, and well-wishers to come forward and assist the team in any capacity they can manage be it boots, training kits, or logistics just to mention a few and I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our partners who help this team to continue doing so for the betterment of sports in Malawi”. Karonga Giants has produced stars like Allen Chihana who is the Vice Captain for Karonga now and will kick start their Premier Division journey today against Mhuju FC at Mhuju ground.
