Police conduct hospital clean up activity
As a way of showing patriotism, Police in Nkhata Bay district in conjunction with members of Community Policing, from Group Village Head Kamwadi conducted a clean-up activity at Nkhata Bay District Hospital.
An initiative that was carried out on April 23, 2024, came in upon Community Policing members noticing that there was a rapid growth of natural grasses around the hospital. The task has been carried out not only to show patriotism but also to demonstrate that it’s everyone’s responsibility to take care of the facilities that benefit the citizenry in our societies.
The Senior Chief Mkumbira who joined the activity, commended the Police and the members of the Community Policing for coming forward with the idea and successfully implementing it, which is not a mean gesture of caring.
Mkumbira further urged all stakeholders to follow suit.
In her remarks, Sub Inspector Veronica Kaira, who is also the Community Policing coordinator for Nkhatabay Police Station, commended everyone who participated in the exercise. She however, pleaded with the community members through Senior Chief Mkumbira to exercise their roles of taking care of their hospital in the district.
