Immigration Officers Arrests 28 Illegal Immigrants for contravening Immigration Laws
Immigration Officials in the Northern have arrested 28 Ethiopian nationals on suspicion that they entered in the country without following proper entry procedures contrary to Section 21(1) of the Malawi Immigration Act during the night of 8 March, 2024.
The arrested Ethiopians, all males were intercepted around Madise area in Mzimba following Immigration Officials routine check around the said place.
All the 28 suspects do not posses any travel document to legalise their entry or stay in the country.
Meanwhile, all the suspects are in custody awaiting legal proceedings.
Sergeant Francis Chitambuli Northern Region Immigration Public Relations Officer confirm the incident.
