Malawi to host three national team tournament in March.

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) in conjunction with three other football associations has organized a four country tournament which will be held in Lilongwe from March 18 to 26, 2024.
According to a statement released on Thursday February 29,2024 says the four countries has organized the tournament with an aim of preparing the 2026 FIFA world cup and 2024 African cup qualifiers.
The statement also continue to say that the tournament will feature senior national team and U20 teams for both countries.
“The first tournament will feature the senior men’s national teams of our four countries. This tournament presents valuable opportunity you our national teams to face quality opposition in preparation for upcoming 2026 FIFA world cup and 2025 AFCON qualifiers campaign.
“Additionally a concurrent youth tournament for our U20 national team will take place during the same period. By bringing together the best young player from across our countries .” Part of statement says.
The statement further say the tournament will develop and transform the game of football in the southern part of African.
“Our four nation are committed to corroborating for the advancement of football development and transformation across the region. We believe hosting these joint tournament will build camaraderie between our nation.
The four national teams which will take part in the tournament are Kenya, Zimbabwe Zambia and the host Malawi.
