NRB Warns Citizens on Changing Date of Birth

Malawi National Registration Bureau (NRB) has learnt with shock after noticing that many people are flocking to their offices to change their date of birth.

According to a statement released on February 19,2024 says many malawian are flocking to their offices to change their date of birth to find an opportunity in some public sectors like malawi police service, Malawi Defense Force and Malawi prison service.

“We have learnt with great concern with the large number of citizen who come and request to change their Date of birth on their National Identity card, especially at a time of employment opportunities at malawi police service, Malawi Defense Force and Malawi prison service.”

The statement continue to say NRB does not change or amend date of birth on National Identity card and it will not tolerate such malpractice.

For the past years many rumors were heard that people change their date of birth to find job opportunities in different institution.
