Two Men behind bars for sleeping with their daughters in Mzimba

Mzimba Police Station is keeping in custody two men Clement Chipeta 44, and Joseph Lukhere 49, for allegedly having sexual intercourse with their biological daughters in different occasions both in Edingeni in Mzimba district.

Police arrested Chipeta on December 31, 2023 after having a report that Chipeta and his 14 year daughter went to Tazoole in Zambia on December 24, 2023 to buy millet and on their way back around 1900 hours it is alleged that Chipeta forced himself on his daughter.

Chipeta warned the daughter not to spill the beans to anybody. But the girl failed to keep the secret, she revealed the whole ordeal to her mother who reported to Edingeni Police Unit.

In a related development, Police on January 1, 2023 arrested Joseph Lukhere 49 years who is also suspected to have carnally known his 15 year old biological daughter during the month of December 2023 at Kachingwe village in Edingeni in the district.

Lukhere has been accusing his daughter that most of the times she was knocking off late from school. He suspected her of dating either one of the teachers or some boys from her school.

As such, the father was fond of beating the girl as a punishment for coming home late. On the material day, the father (Lukhere) was accusing the girl as usual but instead of beating her, he forced the daughter to have intercourse with him and it worked since the girl was afraid to be beaten again if she refused.

The daughter revealed the matter to her aunt who later together with the mother reported the matter to the Village Victim Support Group members.

Both girls were examined at Edingeni Health Center where is was confirmed that they were defiled.

Chipeta and Lukhere will appear in court soon to answer charges of Having Sexual Intercourse with a Female Child.

Clement Chipeta hails from Ephingweni village, while Joseph Lukhere hails from Kachingwe village both in Traditional Authority M’mbelwa in Mzimba district.
