Wateraid allocates 2.5 Billion kwacha to address water issues in Ntchisi

Non profitable Organization, WaterAid Malawi in Ntchisi has allocated 2.537 Billion Malawi kwacha (1,200,000 GBP) to address water issues in 3 Health Centre Facilities and 10 villages in Ntchisi district.
The allocated amount will carter for new water supply system and additional wash facilities at Chandawe Health centre, Sambakunsi and Chinkhande in Ntchisi District including 10 villages to be supplied with new water points (Boreholes).
Programs officer (PO) for the Organization Laston Zungu disclosed this information during media tour where different media houses are are appriciating interventions by WaterAid in the district.
Speaking during the tour, Laston Zungu said that the 4 year project aims at addressing water challenges faced at the facilities with financial support from United Kingdom (UK) funders called Wimbledon Foundation.
Zungu further hinted that the funds will be used to improve water system, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) facilities at the hospital, ensuring better access to clean water and sanitation for patients, staff, and visitors.
“This huge investment will enhance the quality of healthcare services and contribute to the overall well-being of the community in Ntchisi District said,”Laston Zungu.
In a separate interview,i the chairperson for for Chinkhande Healthcare post, Josephy Mataya, thanked WaterAid for the water project.
This project will help to improve Access to inclusive and sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene facilities in the three Health centres and 10 villages, improve hygiene behavior change among health care workers and clients, improved infection prevention and controlpractices in Health care facilities.
