Two arrested for possessing live Pangolins
Two men are in Police custody at Dedza Police Station for allegedly being found in Possession of two live Pangolins.
The suspects have been identified as Vincent Kadoso , 24 and Yohane Chekangu , 43.
It is reported that, Police received a tip from a well-wisher that the suspects were keeping the two pangolins which they were offering for sale.
In order to verify if the information was true, Police detectives organized a team which strategically managed to bring the suspects closer to Kapesi Village where the suspects produced a laptop bag in which they concealed the Pangolins and later the detectives managed to arrest them.
Checking inside the laptop bag, the detectives found a big and a baby Pangolin.
Meanwhile, the specimens have been handed over to the Department of Wildlife and Parks for safe keeping.
The two suspects will appear before court soon to answer the charges levelled against them.
Vincent Kadoso hails from Katsekaminga village in Traditional Authority Kamenyagwaza while Yohane Chekangu comes from Mkakaula village in Traditional Authority kachere in Dedza district.
