Mutharika asks NGC members to be free to discuss proposed policy documents

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) leader who happens to be the former President of the Republic, Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has asked members of the National Governing Council (NGC) to be free to deliberate the proposed Policy documents.

Mutharika said this on Monday at Nkopola lodge in Mangochi where the Party’s NGC is meeting to discuss party’s issues including setting the dates of the convention.
“The proposed documents are crucial for the future of the party ahead of the coming elections and beyond, and that as delegates who are mandated for oversight they have to be serious.,” He said.

He sited that in 2020 after losing Fresh Presidential elections, he sanctioned a functional review committee to do a post-mortem on why the party lost elections and on the same, ways on how to mitigate factors that can make the party unfashionable.
The NGC meeting is coming after the court injunction lifted of bar the meeting.

Dalitso Kabambe, Leader of opposition in Parliament Kondwani Nankhumwa, Bright Msaka, George Chapo da and many other top leaders of the party are attending the meeting.
