Sports Analyst Call For Immediate Closure of Kamuzu Stadium.

One of reknown sports analyst Parry Chinyama says the decision made by football Association of Malawi (FAM) to suspend all big games not to be played at Kamuzu stadium has come in right time as the stadium becomes a death trap to spectators.

Chinyama says the decision to suspend all big games not to be played at Kamuzu stadium will bring safety to people and has called for immediate fully closure of the stadium and be demolished for reconstruction.
“The stadium should be demolished because when you go there and check some facilities are not operating like water taps in stand and some gates are not operating which can cause danger to spectators.”

He added that the stadium is in an old state and has to be demolished for reconstruction to much with the standard ones.

Chinyama further say although the decision has come in right time but it will bring panic to government as they will have an excuse that they have no finance to reconstruction the stadium.

“If the stadium be demolished at this time, I think it will give panic to government considering that this country was hit by cyclone Freddy in the southern region and this will be an excuse to government.”

This revalation has come after football Association of Malawi (FAM ) announced that all big games will not be played at Kamuzu stadium including Blantyre derbies between FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and those games will be played at Bingu National Stadium (BNS).

In 2017 Minister of sports Hernry Mussa ordered the closure of kamauza stadium and be demolished following CAF order that the stadium has turn into death trap to spectators.

Some parts of stand at the stadium were closed that spectators were not allowed to seat on those stands.
