Tourism Ministry Recommend Mzuni

The ministry of tourism is impressed by the faculty of tourism at Mzuzu University ( MZUNI) with its effort to anchor the tourism industry in the country.

Minister of tourism Vera Kamtukule says tourism is the pivotal sector in the structural transformation of our economy. She has revealed the gratitude on her Facebook page after a tour at the University.

Training institutions are the foundation where the tourism sector can be build. To what extent are they able to train students to the destination Malawi, Beyond food what other world cuisines are they able to teach students to serve other nationalities too, How are we making sure our authenticity as a people is fully portrayed in tourism are some of the questions institutions should respond to promote tourism.

MZUNI has proved to be working tirelessly in making sure that all the questions are addressed.Chefs trained at this faculty can work at any hotel around the world and the equipment’s are top class making students ready for the industry.

” The faculty is paramount to success of our tourism sector and am happy that students are taught exactly what our tourism sector needs”.

The travel laboratory students are also taught holistic approach while maintaining their authenticity of our identity as Malawians.

This an opportunity for students to understand that tourism is not just limited to booking but offers other services like transportation, security, recreation and leisure where different entities come together to make the tourism experience more interesting.
