Kumwembe Stings His Former Club, as Wanderers Beat Civo

Kumwembe stings his Former Club, as Wanderers beat Civo….
By Antony Isaiah Jr……
Mighty Mukuru Wanderers’ season started in a blue colour after putting two past the Servants, Civil Service United powered by Christopher Kumwembe and Misheck Botomani’s masterful forms.
Kumwembe was a threat for Civil in their last visit to Kamuzu Stadium where they recorded a 4-3 winner, but this time he turned against his former bosses and torment them after completing a move to the blue camp during the transfer window.
Mark Harrison who has now gone on top of the table of the league made it clear after the game that they need to get off to a good start in their pursuit to win the second league title in 16 years while plunging Civil Service United deeper to the bottom of the table.
Kumwembe and Botomani were on target as Mighty Mukuru Wanderers made their wish clear this season.
At the back of a disappointing 2-1 defeat to their neighbours, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in the NBS Bank Charity Shield Cup, Mark made two changes as Peter Cholopi and Misheck Botomani replaced Emmanuel Nyirenda and Alfred Manyozo Jr.

After a frantic start saw both sides trade early blows, it was Mighty Mukuru Wanderers who settled quicker, and they came close to take the lead when the most expensive player in the Super League, Gaddie Chirwa beat two defenders before got injured in the process.
The wait was over after 25 minutes. Kumwembe was off the mark. Misheck Botomani was the architect of the goal. He whipped in a peach of a ball into the box, and Jacaama Kumwembe darted in between the defenders to slot low into the net, leaving Tione Tembo with no option.
From the provider on to the scoresheet himself, Botoman doubled the lead 6 minutes later. He tapped in Stanley Sanudi’s well-taken free-kick.
Settled and trying to reduce the arrears before the break, Civil Service United attacked the Nomads. Wisdom Mpinganjira went into the book of Mayamiko Kanjere after a foul on the edge of the penalty box but the free-kick was well defended by the hosts.
Tione Tembo repelled Gaddie Chirwa’s effort after the introduction of Vitumbiko Kumwenda for Mphatso Kamanga. Chiukepo Msowoya and Vincent Nyangulu replaced Kumwembe and Gaddie with 15 minutes on the referee’s watch to play.
Oscar Kaunda turned to his bench and bringing up four new pair of legs. Patrick 90 Minutes Phiri, Chifundo Ngapenda, Henry Msowoya, Innocent Tanganyika all replaced Luke Chima, Shasimbiwe Kanyika, Festus Duwe, Arnold Masamba.
With the slight change in momentum, pulling equalisers would be Miracle for the Servants as they return home emptying. They will face the Super League debutants, Extreme Football Club in their second game while Wanderers travel to Balaka to face Red Lions who played a 1-all stalemate against Blue Eagles in Lilongwe.
