FJA, SULOM Call For Professional Reporting
Football Journalist Association (FJA) has partnered with the Super League of Malawi to hold a pre-season workshop in their quest to promote professional reporting during the TNM Super League season 2023.
Speaking on the importance of the conference, Super League of Malawi President, Fleetwood Haiya said it is in line with his manifesto pillars which include reforming, reviving, and rebranding and media should not be left behind.
“Our objective is to reform, revive and rebrand the Super League and Media should not be left behind. We sponsored similar workshops for referees and other stakeholders and media as an important partner, also had to be considered,” said Haiya.
On his part, FJA Vice President, Deitrich Frederich said the workshop which will attract 35 journalists from print, radio, Television and online will help the media to review the 2022 season and plan how to improve in 2023.
“Our plan is to have such workshops at the beginning of each season. We thank SULOM for responding positively to our proposal,” he said.
Some of the topics to be covered at the workshop to be held in Blantyre on Sunday are emerging issues in football reporting such as corruption and match fixing, the rise of misinformation and fake news on Social Media, Laws of the Game and Ethics.
