YPNM call for international Community to help Freddy victims

Young Pastors Network of Malawi call on the international community to provide necessary support to those affected by cyclone freddy and help them recover from this disaster.

The support needed are emergency relief supplies, funding, and technical expertise to help rebuild infrastructure and businesses.

In a letter signed by Pastor Tusalifye Mbewe General secretary of the organisation express their condolences to families and loved ones of who have lost lives in the devastating cyclone Freddy in Blantyre mainly and some districts of the southern region.The organisation promises to work closely with the authorities, humanitarian organizations, and local communities
to provide assistance and support to those in need.

Reports show that Cyclone Freddy has claimed 190 lives of our fellow Malawians in the southern region while a number of them are reported injured and some are missing.

As of now Freddy has weakened over the southern region of Malawi and is no longer a cyclone , but it will continue to bring strong winds and flooding rains to parts of Malawi Tuesday and Wednesday.

Southern part is expected to experience heavy rains in between 300mm and 400mm within the 24 hours which will lead to flooding.
