Wanderers complete the acquisition of Bangwe Super Queens

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers have completed the acquisition of Bangwe Super Queens to fulfill the Club Licensing Regulations.

The Club has announced the development in a statement signed by the Mighty Wanderers Limited Company’s General Secretary, Clemet Stambuli who said that the acquisition is effective 7th March, 2023.

“Mighty Wanderers (LTD) now has four teams to its name: Mighty Mukuru Wanderers FC, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Reserve, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Youth and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Queens,” reads the announcement in part.

Following the development, Bangwe Super Queens will be now called Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Queens.

Speaking to Media during the official announcement of the development, The Mighty Mukuru Wanderers board and company secretary Chancy Gondwe said Wanderers as a company may also venture into other sports disciplines like Netball, Basketball.

The Nomads are intending to participate in the Caf Confederation Cup after winning the Airtel Top-8 Cup last season while Nyasa Big Bullets who won the TNM Super League will represent the Country in the Caf Champions League.

It’s been over 20 years since the two Clubs participated in the Continental Competitions simultaneously. Wanderers last appeared in the Caf Champions League back in 2018 when they collected a half-dozen of goals against AS Vita of DRC while FCB Nyasa Big Bullets played 180 minutes without a goal in their 4-0 annihilation to Simba SC of Tanzania last year.

FCB Nyasa Bullets, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, Civo Service United, Kamuzu Barracks are some of the Super League Clubs that have women’s Football Club.
