Bullets sign two Kenyan defenders

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have confirmed the signing of two Kenyan Defenders, Collins Odhiambo Ukumu and Clyde Senaji Navade who have been undergoing trials for three weeks with the Club.
Making the announcement on Tuesday afternoon in Blantyre, the people’s team said they were impressed with the performance of the two defenders in the just-ended Nyasa International Bonanza in which the Club finished at the bottom of the four-member table after failing to score in three games.
The Kenyan international, Senaji who can also comfortably play as centre-back, impressed as he came on as a second-half substitute against Mozambican Ferroviário de Nampula on Friday, and against Mighty Mukuru Wanderers on Saturday when he was given full minutes while Okumu, 25, impressed head coach Kalisto Pasuwa during his three-week trial with the club, including his involvement in the 2023 Pre-Season International Bonanza at the weekend.
Ukumu came on as a second-half substitute during the 0-0 draw against Mozambican Ferroviário de Nampula on Friday before he played full minutes in our 1-0 loss to UD Songo on Sunday.
The two defenders have signed a one-year contract each.
Speaking to the Club’s Media, Senaji said he was happy to get a contract with the champions of Malawi.
“I am finally happy to get a contract with the champions of Malawi. It has been tough to secure a contract after undergoing high-intensity training with the team and I am looking forward to achieving more with this big club.”
On playing in front of thousands of Bullets supporters during the bonanza, he said:

“I have played for a big team in Kenya, AFC Leopards, which has a huge following just like Bullets, so I was up for the challenge and it came out good”.
Senaji was also delighted to work under Pasuwa, describing him as an achiever.
“He is an achiever; he has been winning and you can tell from his CV that he is a winner. What he has achieved speaks for itself, so I am happy to work for him and I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds when we start the new season.”
On his part, The former Thika United, Posta Rangers and Bidco United defender Ukumu playing for the Malawi champions will give him a good platform to showcase his talent.
“It’s a good platform to showcase my talent and I believe Bullets is a big team. I am looking forward to the new challenge and I promise to work hard because I believe in myself,” he reacted.
The People’s Team have been on the market hunting for new defenders following the departure of Hadji Wali and Isaac Badu.
The Club is still on the market as they look to find Babatunde Adepoju, Chimwemwe Idana and Hassan Kajoke’s replacements.
